AIG APPOINTS STEPHEN PARSONS DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER FOR HONG KONG

Hong Kong, November 5, 2014 – American International Group Inc. (NYSE: AIG) today announced that Stephen Parsons has been named Deputy Chief Executive Officer for AIG Insurance Hong Kong Limited (“AIG Hong Kong”). Mr. Parsons will maintain his role as Head of Claims and Operations in AIG Hong Kong until a successor is appointed. He will report to Rudi H. Spaan who, once approval from the regulator is obtained, will formally take on the role of President and CEO of AIG Hong Kong.
“Stephen brings to his new role extensive exposure in underwriting, claims and business development experience. He also has a deep understanding of the Hong Kong market and excellent relationships with major brokers, clients and associations,” Mr. Spaan said. “We are very excited about the opportunities for AIG in Hong Kong and Stephen will help to realize that great potential.”
Mr. Parsons has a distinguished 35-year career in the insurance industry. Prior to joining AIG in 2013, he worked at Aon in Hong Kong for 10 years, where he was Director of Claims Services and a business development leader. Mr. Parsons started his career at Eagle Star in Cardiff, Wales in 1979. He went on to serve in leadership roles at Commercial Union Assurance Co. in Dubai, Inchcape Insurance Services in Hong Kong, BPW in the UK and Asia Risk Technologies in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Mr. Parsons is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) and a Chartered Insurer (UK).
