To obtain a free Travel Insurance Policy for a trip, the Selected Cardholder must:

1. The flight, the hotel or tour package of the Trip is paid for by the Cardholder using his/her Eligible Card, or the Eligible Card is used by the Cardholder to make a purchase of any kind (at a minimum of HK$500) during the Trip.
2. The Trip must commence and end in Hong Kong.
3. The Cardholder must be between the ages of 18 and 70 and all the travel companion(s) must be age 70 or below.
4. The coverage is restricted to a maximum of six (6) travelers (including the Cardholder), who are listed on the tour booking invoice with Tourist Industry Council outbound levy, hotel booking confirmation or e-Ticket.  The Cardholder and his/her travel companion(s) must travel together and must be booked onto the same flight or same hotel. 
5. Cardholder must login to www.aig.com.hk/unionpay and follow the prompts to register the Free Plan before he/she and the travel companion(s) (if any) leave the immigration counter of Hong Kong for the purpose of commencement of the Trip.


*The first 6-digits of eligible card number must be provided upon registration. Cardholder should safe keep the payment slips or bank statement and furnish all information as evidence in the event of a claim.

Claims Process

In the event of loss, written notice of claim should be given to us within thirty (30) days after the occurrence, except death claim which requires immediate notice in writing.

Insured person is also required to provide the claim form, all the relavant documents regarding on the claims, boarding pass and also your eligible credit card account statement or receipt which included:

(a) Credit card type

(b) Cardholder’s name and

(c) The record of purchase flight, hotel, tour package or overseas spending over HKD$500 during the trip by the Selected Card

(d) If you are not the cardholder, you must provide the tour booking invoice with Tourist Industry Council outbound levy, hotel booking confirmation slip or e-ticket to show that you are on the list of the trip

in order to proceed the claims.

If you didn’t consult the local registered doctor at least one time, your medical expenses incurred after your return to Hong Kong are not covered.

Yes. Cover will automatically be extended up to a maximum of 10 calendar days without paying any additional premium, in the event the journey is being unavoidably delayed. (e.g: Travel Delay and missed departure sections due to fibular fracture, and insured person can provide medical documentation to prove that he/she is not medically fit to travel)
